Preschool Series - CREATION

In this series, children will learn that God created a very good world for us to care for and enjoy. Children will discover that out of his great love, God created all things. We live in God’s world, made in his image, and as we live we can share his love.

"God saw everything he had made. And it was very good." Genesis 1:31

God created a very good world.

Today’s stories from the Bible is about Adam and Eve disobeying God. That means they didn’t do what he wanted them to do.

God had a loving plan to forgive Adam and Eve for disobeying him—as well as for forgiving each of us!

(from Genesis 3)

Kids Series - CREATION

In this series, kids will discover that we can see God's fingerprints on every part of creation. He is the ultimate artist. He designed an amazing world for us to take care of, a place for us to be creative, and a place for him to hang out with us. This series rolls back time to the very beginning to help us understand who we are in connection to God and his great desire to be in relationship with us.

Ever since the world was created it has been possible to see the qualities of God that are not seen. I’m talking about his eternal power and about the fact that he is God. Those things can be seen in what he has made.

Romans 1:20

Kids (K - Gr. 3)

Have you ever

Made fun of someone

Told a parent a “half-truth”

Called a sibling a mean name

Pretended not to hear someone in order to get out of doing something

Been jealous of another kid’s toys

Cheated on a test at school

Called a teacher a bad name behind their back

Taken something that didn’t belong to you.

Broken a promise to a friend.

These are all examples of sin.

Read Genesis 3:1-24 Adam and Eve Sin

It is helpful to recognize the crummy sins that we have a hard time with, and pray that God would help us.

Sin polluted God’s perfect world.

God rescues us from sin!

Junior High (Gr.4-6)

Have you ever worked hard on something that fell apart or was ruined accidentally? (Maybe by a sibling or a pet?)

What happened? How did you feel?

Sin polluted God’s perfect world.

Read the God Story

Adam and Eve Sin in Genesis 3:1-24

Watch the Life Story

Environmentalist Helen-Marie Teo

How do these two stories relate?

God invites us to partner with him to build his kingdom here on earth.

That includes addressing sins that pollute as well as bringing peace and healing.

Can you think of situations in which we could bring peace or healing? (e.g., befriending a bullied kid or caring for the earth in some way)

Can you commit to trying one of these this week?

Youth Series - CREATION

God designed an amazing world for us to take care of, a place for us to be creative, and a place for him to hang out with us. This series rolls back time to the very beginning to help us understand who we are in connection to God and his great desire to be in relationship with us.

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

John 1:3-4 (NLT)

Youth (Gr. 7-9)

Do you remember the first time you really got in trouble? What happened?

Did your actions affect anyone?

Were you punished? If so, how?

How would you define sin? What is it?

Sin polluted God’s perfect world.

Read Genesis 3:4-10

Have you ever felt shame for something you did?

What do you think God would’ve said to you in that moment?

Have you ever felt like hiding from God?

If yes, why?

Read Romans 5:12-18

Could you explain this passage in a couple of sentences?

Why did Adam and Eve’s sin have an impact on us?

If they didn’t sin, do you think someone else would have eventually?

According to verse 18, what did Jesus do?

What does having a right relationship with God mean for you?

How does it change or affect your everyday life?

Sin messes up so much: our relationship with God, our emotions, our relationships with family and friends, and so on.

What’s one way sin affects your life right now?

What might it look like for God’s grace and forgiveness through Jesus to change this situation? Do you trust that it can?
