For the month of July 2020

More Minute to Win it ideas!

Chopstick Race

Players work individually to move as many cereal pieces from a central bowl into their own plastic cups, using only a pair of chopsticks. Easy? Think again!

One-handed Bracelets

Thread as many fruit loops or Cheerios onto a pipe cleaner as possible. Here’s the clincher–now make that pipe cleaner into a bracelet using one hand. So funny!

Marshmallow Race

Draw a line in the middle of the table and use a straw to blow marshmallows to the other side of the line. Compete with others or play individually. You have one minute to blow a single marshmallow from one side of the table to the other.

Try this pantomime!

This is what God the Lord says -

make a megaphone with your hands around your mouth

the Creator of the heavens,

clench fists and raise hands up, open fingers up, like getting water off of them

who stretches them out,

stretch your arms out as far as you can and move them across the air

who spreads out the earth,

squat down with palms down and arms stretched out, move arms across ground

with all that springs from it,

slowly rise up from the ground, like a growing plant

who gives breath to its people,

hold hand up to mouth with fingers in a circle and breath through the circle in your hand with a “whoosh!”

and life to those who walk on it .

slowly raise your hand over your heart and start walking in place

Isaiah 42:5

hold your hands like a book and slowly open them

God wants us to love Him with our hearts, our thoughts, our words, and our actions. He wants us to know Him!

Crafty Ideas

Erupting Rainbow Sidewalk Chalk Paint

Making sidewalk chalk paint is incredibly simple. The traditional recipe calls for equal amounts of water and cornstarch with added colour.

To make erupting sidewalk chalk paint mix 1/3 cup of water, 1/3 cup of cornstarch, and 1/3 cup of baking soda with each colour. Remember that the base of this paint recipe is white, so add a good amount of colour to achieve vibrant shades of paint. For easy preparation, mix the ingredients in a measuring cup with an easy pour spout then fill small squeezy bottles so kids can squirt the paint onto the sidewalk!

Once all the squeezy bottles are empty, use spray bottles full of vinegar. Watch your kids' reactions when the chalk erupts!
